Chicken Loft - Medium

This chicken house is the largest in our current range. It will hold up to 10 large chickens or 12 smaller ones, and has four nest boxes.

The floor is raised off the ground, so the birds can find shelter or shade underneath. Access to inspect the birds and for cleaning is via a wide back door which can be quickly opened, yet securely fastened in seconds. When the door is removed, there is no 'lip' on the floor edge. This, and the fact that the roof removes in seconds as well, makes regular cleaning a breeze. Access to the nesting boxes is quick and easy – just remove two quick release pins. And, if required, the entire nest box can be removed by undoing a few more quick release pins.

Permanent ventilation is provided under the eaves, with an additional fully adjustable circular vent in the front. Even though the sides are made from black plastic, the house remains surprisingly cool, even in strong, direct summer sunlight.

Being plastic, there are few crevices for pests to hide in, and the house can be thoroughly cleaned very easily – in seconds if you have a pressure washer. And it will dry out very quickly, too.

Although large, this house can be carried by two people. and if you ever need to dismantle your chicken loft for any reason, perhaps because you are moving house for example, you can easily do so and then rebuild it just as easily. Your loft will not be damaged by this process.

COLOURS. This house is available both in Black with a coloured roof, door and nest box lid, and in Green with a coloured roof, door and nest box lid. The photo on this page shows a black house with a green roof. Our Gallery pages have additional photos.

PERCHES. There are two perch options to choose from. If you have meat birds or larger breeds such as Orpingtons or Brahmas that prefer not to perch, select the 'No perch' option.

We do not offer a run for this the house - we recommend poultry netting to provide sufficient area.
